AkOOre ("AkOOre", "we", "us", "our") provides a SaaS platform for search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) at akoore.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
AkOOre is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at [email protected].
2. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Account data — the email address, password (stored as a salted hash), and name you provide when you register, either directly or via "Continue with Google" sign-in.
- Connected marketing platform data — when you connect a third-party account (such as Google Ads or Google Analytics) via OAuth, we store the resulting access and refresh tokens and the account identifiers needed to read data on your behalf, together with the data those APIs return (keyword ideas, search volumes, campaign and ad performance, site traffic and conversion metrics).
- Website data you submit — the URL, description, and any other information you provide about the websites you manage in AkOOre, plus data we collect about those websites while producing your SEO/GEO reports (crawled pages, links, backlinks, on-page and technical audit findings, keyword and ranking data).
- Content you create — articles, keyword lists, and other content generated or edited through the Service.
- Communications — messages you send to our support mailbox ([email protected]) and any correspondence about your account.
- Usage and log data — pages requested, timestamps, IP address, browser/device information, and application error logs generated as you use the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies — session cookies required to keep you signed in and remember your language preference. See §7 (Cookies).
We do not knowingly collect more data than is needed to provide and improve the Service.
3. How we use your data
We use the data described above to:
- create and administer your account and authenticate you;
- connect to the marketing platforms you authorize and retrieve the data needed to build your SEO/GEO reports, keyword research, audits and dashboards;
- generate articles, audits, backlink prospects and other content on your behalf;
- operate, maintain, secure and improve the Service, including diagnosing technical issues;
- send you service, account and security notifications, and respond to your support requests;
- with your consent, send you product updates or marketing communications, which you may opt out of at any time;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. How we share your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as follows:
- Platforms you connect — when you authorize a connection (e.g. Google Ads, Google Analytics), we exchange data with that platform's API strictly to provide the features you requested. That platform's own privacy policy also applies to its handling of your data.
- Service providers — we use a limited set of subprocessors to operate the Service: Postmark (transactional and account email delivery), DataForSEO and ScrapingDog (search, keyword and web-page data collection), and AI providers used to generate content and audits (including OpenAI, Google Gemini, and a locally-hosted language model we operate ourselves). These providers process data only as needed to perform their function for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Legal reasons — we may disclose data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of AkOOre, our users, or others.
- Business transfers — if AkOOre is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a policy at least as protective.
5. International data transfers
AkOOre and the service providers listed above may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.
6. Data retention
We keep your account and website data for as long as your account is active. Technical retrieval logs (records of pages we fetched on your behalf) are kept for up to five years and then purged automatically. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
7. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a cookie that remembers your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on akoore.com. Because these cookies are essential to the Service, they cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality; you can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings, which may prevent you from signing in.
8. Data security
We apply technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and restricted staff access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your data;
- request a portable copy of your data;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including marketing communications;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service.
12. Contact us
Questions, requests, or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your data can be sent to [email protected].
