Find Wikipedia links to dead domains

Wikipedia keeps citing sites for years after they die. Give AkOOre a domain that no longer answers and it finds every article still linking to it — each dead citation is a gap an editor needs filled, and a reason to offer OriginalUniqueArt.com as what fills it.

What this is worth, honestly

A link from Wikipedia is nofollow — it carries a tag telling Google to pass no ranking power along it, so it will not lift your positions, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. It is still one of the most valuable placements on the web, for three reasons that have nothing to do with ranking:

  • AI answers quote Wikipedia constantly. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews lean on it heavily. Being the source cited on the article about your subject is one of the few reliable ways to turn up inside an AI answer — the GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) half of the work, and being cited is the AI equivalent of ranking first.
  • Real readers click. The people reading the article about your subject are researching it right now.
  • Other writers copy Wikipedia's sources. Journalists and bloggers start there, so one citation quietly becomes several ordinary links elsewhere.

What makes a dead domain worth the trouble?

One that took a lot of pages down with it. A reference database that shut down, an organisation that redesigned its site and broke every old URL, a trade publication that closed — each of those is cited from hundreds of articles, and every citation is now a link readers cannot follow.

AkOOre asks Wikipedia which articles still link to the domain, then checks each link itself: only the ones that genuinely do not answer are listed, so a site that came back does not send you writing to editors for nothing.
